What is moka?

The moka system – Movement Kinematic Analysis – consists of a user application and a set of sensors used to collect measurement data. It is a helpful tool for diagnosis and monitoring the effects of therapy.

The moka application enables the analysis of collected data and the implementation of physiotherapy prevention tasks by conducting tests in a stationary mode or outside the office.

MOKA is not a medical device that is currently undergoing certification.

The main objective of the moka system is to create technical conditions enabling:

Fizjoterapeutka w szarym uniformie pomaga uśmiechniętej pacjentce w ćwiczeniach z dużą piłką rehabilitacyjną w jasnej sali do ćwiczeń. Pacjentka leży na plecach na macie, trzymając piłkę nogami, a fizjoterapeutka pochyla się nad nią, udzielając wskazówek.

Moka enables the analysis of collected data and the performance of tasks in the field of physiotherapy prevention.

The user has the option of conducting the examination in a stationary mode or outside the office.

The Moka system consists of:

  • an application for the end user (doctor or physiotherapist) installed on a mobile device (tablet) used, among other things, to manage and treat patients, conduct examinations, analyze results, and prepare reports,
  • server software for data collection and processing, communicating with the mobile application via API,
  • a database server for storing basic patient information, collected measurement and calculation data, and reports; the storage of measurement data and analysis results is used for presentation and mutual comparison purposes in the Moka application during the course of diagnosis and treatment of the patient by a doctor or physiotherapist.

In accordance with the intended use of the MOKA system, in order for it to function properly, the user must also use other elements of the system – products that are not medical devices:

  • IMU measurement sensors – Movella DOT (formerly Xsens DOT) or Telvis IMU sensors stored in a dedicated case used to simultaneously charge the sensors by physically connecting them to an external charger,
  • a tablet with the Moka application installed,
  • a universal charger (wired, equipped with USB-A or USB-C connectors, along with cables for charging devices),
  • mounting tapes – flexible Velcro tapes attached directly to the patient’s body or clothing, enabling the mounting of IMU measurement sensors,

and a medical device:

  • disposable patches for direct application to the patient’s skin (e.g., sacrum).

The entire system is packed in a common outer packaging – a case.
